PADUM LAMAYURU TREK IN LADAKH
TOUR ITINERARY
Day 01:
Ladakh Sarai to Kargil
In morning on arrival to Ladakh Sarai, a drive to Kargil
enrouting Alchi. Alchi lies on the bank of River Indus
having two beautiful villages Uletokpo and Nimo. About 7 km
far Alchi Monastery which has mural paintings gompas,
chortens, Buddhist stupas, wooden sculptures. Then drive to
Lamayuru via the villages of Khalsi and Saspol. Halt here
for a while, have lunch and visit around Lamayuru. Enjoy the
breathtaking and scenic landscape here and then continue
your journey to Kargil. On the way visit Fotu La, highest
point at Leh/Srinagar highway. And descend down from here to
a small village Heniskut and then a drive up to Kangral
village. Drive downward to Kargil via Mulbekh village.
Dinner and Overnight stay in hotel at Kargil.
Day 02: Kargil to Rangdum
After breakfast in hotel, walk via the picturesque valleys
of Panikhar, Sanku and Parkachik. While crossing these
valleys, enjoy the spectacular view and drive to Rangdum
“no-man’s-land”. Dinner and Overnight stay in hotel at
Rangdum.
Day 03: Rangdum to Padum
In early morning have breakfast, depart from Rangdum and
walk towards Pensi La. Enroute see the magnificient Drung
Drang glacier, a source point of Suru River. Trek for
another three to four hours through Doda valley to reach
Padum. Padum, the capital of Zanskar. Dinner and Overnight
stay in camp at Zanskar.
Day 04: At Padum
Morning is free to have rest at Padum. In the noontime trek
up towards Karsha monastery enrouting Pibiting, a dusty
plain towards the Doda River then cross a bridge over it to
reach your destination. After reaching Karsha, visit the
monastery and enjoy the stunning view of the valley. Then
continue to visit Bardan gompa, famous for its handmade
copper prayer wheel and ancient festival mask. Dinner and
Overnight stay at camp in Padum.
Tour ends... but sweet memories always remain.
