LAMAYURU ALCHI TREK IN LADAKH
TOUR ITINERARY
Day 01:
Drive Leh to Lamayuru
On arrival at Leh our tour representative receive and
transfer to Lamayuru, a lush green place lies in stark
desert. In afternoon explore the meresmerizing village and
Lamayuru monastery, one of the oldest and largest monastery
in Ladakh. Have dinner and overnight in tent on the bank of
river near the village.
Day 02: Trek Lamayuru to Wanla
Have a hearty breakfast, start trek from Lamayuru with an
easy descend down to a valley. Then cross a stream and climb
a hill which leads to Prinkiti La. Continue trek with a
narrow gorge to the Shillakong valley via a beautiful way of
apricot orchard and groves of willow. Enroute visit village
of Shilla and Wanla. On arrival at Wanla, set up a tent and
later visit the monastery dominating two villages. Dinner
and Overnight stay.
Day 03: Wanla to Hinju
After a breakfast, ascend up to Panji La, enroute visit
Ripchar valley, a small village full of lush green grass.
After crossing a pass an easy descend to a stream further
ahead lies Hinju, a huge village having mud clustered huts
located on a hillside. Set a camp beyond the village. Dinner
and Overnight stay in camp.
Day 04: Hinju
In morning after breakfast have rest for this day. Explore
the village and surrounding areas around Hinju village.
Day 05: Hinju to Marjek
In morning have a hearty breakfast and start today’s trek by
climbing up to the Konke la. Now a descend into a grazing
area where animals like cow, goat, yak, horses and dozes
graze. One can be fortunate enough to see rarest animal like
blue sheep and ibex country or even a Himalayan fox. On
arrival Marjek, set a camp for dinner and Overnight stay.
Day 06: Marjek to Lanka
At Marjek have breakfast, then start you trek to Lanka.
Enroute visit Sumdah Chenmo, a beautiful village having
astonishing wood carving embedded in the ground and exposed
to elements. Later continue a trek by crossing stream and
climb up to Lanka, a grassland having an old fashioned small
shepherd huts built with piled up stones. Dinner and
Overnight stay in camp at Lanka.
Day 07: Lanka to Sumdah Choon
In morning after breakfast, descend a trek to Sumdah Tokpo.
The trail goes east along with stream to Hasgo a lush green
valley and from here proceed to north to Sumdah choon.
Dinner and Overnight stay at camp in Sumdah Choon.
Day 08: Sumdah Choon
Have a yummy breakfast in camp. Start a trek passing many
pastures and crossing a few number of streams and rivers.
Explore the enchanting beauty of Sumdah Choon and also visit
an old and astonishing monastery at Sumdah Choon from the
Alchi era. Campsite beyond the village. Dinner and Overnight
stay in camp.
Day 09: Sumdah Choon to Pulu
After a refreshing breakfast, start trek to Pulu by climbing
steeply to the Stakspi La. Enjoy a picturesque views of the
beautiful valley. Then a steep descent leads you to the
campsite at Pulu. Have dinner and overnight stay in
campsite.
Day 10: Pulu to Alchi
In morning after breakfast, starts your trek with an easy
descend to Alchi village lies on the right bank of Indus
River. Main attraction here is Alchi monastery, known as the
monastic jewels of Ladakh which has some of the world’s
rarest carpets,frescoes and thankas. Also visit some popular
temples here such as Rinchen Lhakhang, Sumtseg Lhakhang and
Jamyang Lhakhang. In evening after visiting Alchi village,
drive to Uleytokpo, a picturesque and ultimate destination
blessed with breath taking natural beauty. After visit Alchi
monastery get to campsite at Alchi. Dinner and Overnight
stay in camp at Alchi.
Day 11: Drive Alchi to Leh
Have a healthy breakfast, catch a taxi at Alchi and drive
back to Leh for your further journey.
Tour ends... but sweet memories always remain.
