The Meadow Of Flowers
Gulmarg is a hill station that’s in shape of huge cup containing lush and green meadows where silence is broken only by the cowbells tinkle. Gulmarg is a perfect place for movie set and not surprisingly is also venue for several films.
Gulmarg means Meadow of Flowers and in about spring season its meadows are dotted by numerous colourful daisies, bluebells, buttercups and forget-me-not flowers. Gulmarg is about 3km long and near about a km wide.
All around of Gulmarg is an incredible view of snow-capped mountains. When sky is clear around here you can see the glorious view of Nanga Parbat on one side and from another side Srinagar. It’s a popular one day trip of trek from Srinagar to Gulmarg. Many of peoples extend their stay and stay here. From Srinagar road rises gently towards the lower slopes through rice and maize fields trek will take you to Tangmarg.
From Tangmarg there are two way goes to Gulmarg. One is steep footpath and another one is winding sealed road. From Gulmarg there is pony track that’s takes you upward to seven springs, Kongdori and Khilanmarg.

Skiing & Heliskiing
Gulmalrg is one of the Asia’s prominent Heli-skiing resorts. Visit around in December Gulmarg when grassy slopes covered by snow and creates a perfect natural slope for skiing for of all levels. |

Sir Neville Chamberlain and Mr. Henry Mitchell are the persons who visit here in around 1888 and found this place perfect for golf sport. Gulmarg is also well-known for its world class green golf course and also a clubhouse that’s also a historical building. GULMARG WALKS
A circular road about 11km in length runs right round to Gulmarg valley through pleasant pine jungles with a superb view of Kashmir valley. From here Nanga Parbat is clearly view from north and from south you can see Ferozpore, apharwat and sunset peaks. Nanga Parbat known as the lord of the mountains is 4th giant peak on earth about of 8500 meter high. |

Skiing:
In winter Gullmarg is one of the premium skiing places for skiing lovers and is also one of the finest places for skiing in India. It’s an ideal place for skiing of all levels for Professional skier and beginners. You can hire skiing equipments from here and just enjoy the skiing on the descend slope. You don’t need to get climb up slope yourself. Take ski lift that’s takes you to 200m up to the slop. The longer ski run in Gulmarg is provided by the Gondola cable car, it takes you to 2,213m high to the slop.

By Air
Gulmarg is situated in Baramula district and is about 56 km far from Srinagar. The nearest airport to Gulmarg is in Badgam which is connected to the all major cities of country.
By Rail
By rail you can reach Jammu railway station and then from here by road to Gulmarg.
By Road
To reach Gulmarg by road you have to reach Srinagar from here it’s about 2 hours drive to Gulmarg. The way to Gulmarg from Srinagar is so beautiful. All transport is available to gulmarg from Srinagar like bus, taxi and private transport car. |
